Meet the Artist
My name is Samuel Ansah Blay, and art has always been my voice when words fall short. I create portraits that celebrate Black culture, strength, and identity stories that reflect the power, beauty, and soul found in our everyday lives.
Growing up in Ghana, I witnessed how art could bring people together. I saw how a single painting could spark pride, inspire hope, or shift perspectives. But it was during the COVID-19 lockdown that my passion truly deepened. With the world paused and communities isolated, I realized how much art could heal, connect, and give hope even from a distance. Those moments shaped my purpose and became the foundation of 46designs a brand built on the belief that art should do more than look good; it should give back to the communities that raised us.
As the founder and curator of BlackArtsViral on Instagram, I’ve created a platform dedicated to showcasing and celebrating Black artists from around the world. These creators use their craft to speak life, love, resistance, and legacy into our culture, reminding us of who we are and where we come from.
But my mission doesn’t stop online.
My dream is to build a Mobile Art Gallery a visionary, traveling space designed to bring art directly to the people. This fully equipped gallery will move across Ghana, showcasing contemporary African art, celebrating local talent, and inspiring creatives from all backgrounds by making art accessible beyond traditional gallery walls.
Every purchase from 46designs.com helps fuel that vision transforming art into a living movement that connects communities, empowers artists, and keeps creativity in motion.
Because for me, art isn’t just what I do.
It’s how I give back.
It’s how I keep our stories alive.
And it’s how the movement continues
